We at the Forge Training Center have a very strong belief in that you should never stop learning. There are many articles and blog posts out there about the various reasons why those writers believe or promote why you should never stop learning, so I won't spend much of your time talking about those, but we will talk about our beliefs behind our motto of being 'Tempered by Training'.
What does 'Tempered By Training"
As it coincides with the Forge Training Center's name: "The Forge", we often think about forging a knife or some particular piece of custom metal, it takes time. It doesn't happen at once. It takes time. You have to heat the metal, pound it, heat it, pound it, and so on, so forth. It looks pretty mangled before it even begins to take shape.
The definition of the tempering process is: "Tempering, in metallurgy, process of improving the characteristics of a metal, especially steel, by heating it to a high temperature, though below the melting point, then cooling it, usually in air. The process has the effect of toughening by lessening brittleness and reducing internal stresses."
So the goal with the tempering process is the same for metal as it is for you. Through training (no matter what field you are in) the ideal is to help toughening you and to shape and mold yourself to constantly slough off the 'excess metal', or in this case, keep learning, keep growing and improving. The results can be amazing, the effect on you mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually can be tremendous.
Remember this wont be instantaneous, but it can take time. Whether you seek out training with us at the Forge, or somewhere else, our goal is truely to help to become "Tempered through Training".
How are you working on being a better you, handling stress and emotions? How are you growing? Are you getting an outlet in todays society?
